Prior to joining Aberystwyth University Mauritius Branch Campus I have had the chance to work as an academic in the UK, Italy, the UAE and Mauritius. In the last 15 years I have worked for diverse institutions including the University of Manchester (UK), the School of Oriental and African Studies (UK), the ILO training center (Italy), and Middlesex University Mauritius Branch Campus.
My career took me to various administrative positions in addition to my teaching and research roles including Programme Head, Head of Academic Provision, and Interim Campus Director. I remain, however, mostly committed to teaching and research.
My research interests are in international trade and finance, research methods, gender and development and political economy of development with a focus on African economies.
I grew up and did my undergraduate years in France but moved to Manchester (UK) to start an MA in Development Economics for which I won the Dehn prize, followed by the Award of the University of Manchester Social Science full PhD Scholarship.
